How Much Does bp Pay Audi?
We value bp’s Audi deal at $20m a year, and that one number covers bp, Castrol and Aral together because they signed a single agreement. Nobody has reported the fee, so it’s our figure, set by two principal partner slots and the fuel and oil work behind them. The Castrol page shows the same package, not a second payment.
For a fuel company that’s modest money. PETRONAS is reported at $80m a year with Mercedes, and title partner Revolut pays Audi about $75m.
The $20m deal equals about an hour of BP's $189.3bn revenue.
Gives PETRONAS at $80m and Revolut at $75m a year, the benchmarks for the shared bp and Castrol package.

How the bp Audi Fuel Partnership Works
bp is the London energy group that produces, refines and trades oil and gas and sells fuel through bp and Aral stations. It turned over $189.3bn in 2025, but profit attributable to shareholders was just $55m. Meg O’Neill became chief executive in April 2026.
At Audi it’s a principal partner doing a technical job. bp develops the advanced sustainable fuel for the V6 turbo, which must cut greenhouse gas emissions by at least 65% against fossil petrol. Aral, its German fuel brand, gets marketing rights, and the deal is long-term.

Why Is bp Sponsoring Audi?
The 2026 rules forced every team onto fully sustainable fuel, and bp gets its version tested in public at every race Audi starts. Because Audi builds its own engine, bp works directly with the people designing the power unit instead of fitting its fuel to a finished design.
Germany is the other half. bp has sold fuel there as Aral since buying Veba Oel in 2002, and Audi is one of the country’s biggest car brands. The launch release also said Audi had once again chosen bp and Castrol, a nod to their earlier rally and Le Mans work together.

bp F1 Sponsorship History
bp’s current F1 run started with Renault in 2017, and Castrol has been part of both team deals since, first at the team that became Alpine and now at Audi.
bp and Audi Sponsorship Questions
Yes, bp sponsors F1 as a principal partner of the Audi Revolut F1 Team, and it also develops the fuel for Audi’s engine. The deal began with the 2026 season. bp doesn’t sponsor the championship itself, and Audi is its only team this year after it left Alpine at the end of 2024.
bp is both, since Audi lists it as a principal partner and it supplies the advanced sustainable fuel the R26 races on. The two jobs sit in one contract. That fuel work started at the end of 2022, more than three years before the car’s first race in Australia.
The bp agreement covers Castrol and Aral as well. Audi announced bp and Castrol together in July 2024, Castrol makes the oils and fluids, and Aral, bp’s German fuel brand, gets marketing rights. Castrol still has its own principal partner listing, even though it’s the same deal.
Nobody has reported what bp pays Audi, and F1 Salaries puts the whole bp, Castrol and Aral package at $20m a year. That figure is shared across the three brands and shouldn’t be added to a separate Castrol fee. Revolut’s title deal at the same team is reported at $75m.
No, bp isn’t a Red Bull sponsor. Its only F1 team is Audi, while Red Bull’s partner list carries ExxonMobil’s Mobil 1 and Esso brands. Before Audi, bp and Castrol spent eight seasons with Renault and then Alpine, where Eni took over the fuel from 2025.
