Most F1 team principals earn between $1.4m and $7.3m a year in 2026. Adrian Newey is the big exception, with an Aston Martin deal reported at up to £30m ($39.8m) a year. F1 mechanics earn around $40k to $160k a year in 2026. Junior and factory mechanics start at $40k to $70k, trackside race mechanics earn $60k to $95k, and lead mechanics can reach $120k to $160k with bonuses and travel allowances. Pit stop crews are mostly mechanics doing stops on top of their main job.
