F1 Team Value & Salaries

Cadillac F1 Net Worth and the Cost of Joining the Grid
The newest team on the grid is also the lowest valued. PlanetF1 valued Cadillac at $1.6bn in August 2026, $300m below Haas, and because the team has never been bought or sold, that number reflects what an F1 entry is worth today rather than a price anyone has paid.
What Cadillac did pay was a $450m anti-dilution fee, reported by Sportico and Forbes and shared among the existing teams. That’s a one-time cost of getting in, and it won’t recur. With no finished financial year yet, there’s no revenue or profit to report. The $215m cost cap limits this season’s spending, and the $15m Pérez and Bottas earn in base pay sits outside it.
Values Cadillac at $1.6bn in August 2026, the lowest on the grid and a market estimate tied to the worth of an F1 entry.

Pérez and Bottas Salaries at Cadillac F1

Sergio Pérez

Valtteri Bottas

Cadillac signed both of its drivers on August 26, 2025, and both deals run from 2026 to the end of 2027. Sergio Pérez’s salary is the bigger of the two at $10m a year, which makes his contract worth $20m.
Valtteri Bottas’s salary is half that, a $5m base worth $10m across the two seasons. Cadillac’s driver salaries come to $15m for its first season. Swiss newspaper Blick reported in October that Cadillac may not keep both drivers for 2027, which would mean paying out a multi-million dollar contract, but the team hasn’t commented. Neither driver has a contract beyond 2027.
Projected years come from signed deals, using reported figures where they exist and estimates where they don't. TBC means that seat isn't signed yet.

What Each Point Now Costs Red Bull
Who Owns Cadillac F1 and Where GM Fits In
TWG and its backer Mark Walter, who also owns the Los Angeles Dodgers, control Cadillac. General Motors is a confirmed equity owner too, although the exact split between them hasn’t been published.
The team has never changed hands. It grew out of Andretti’s entry bid and joined as a brand-new 11th team, so it isn’t a renamed Sauber. GM’s role goes beyond its shares, because its own power unit is approved from 2029. Reports that GM holds options on a bigger stake describe a possible future, not what it owns today.
Traces control of Cadillac to TWG and Mark Walter and confirms General Motors as an equity owner.

Cadillac F1 Results in a Debut Season
Cadillac is still waiting for its first point. Eighteen Grands Prix and six sprints into its debut season, it sits 11th of 11 with a best finish of 13th, and 14 car retirements haven’t helped a lineup whose drivers arrived with 16 career wins between them.
The all-time record and the current-team record are the same thing here because there’s no lineage to add. Cadillac started from nothing in 2026 and doesn’t carry over results from Sauber or any other team.

How the Cadillac F1 Team Came Together
Most of Cadillac’s F1 story happened before its car ever started a Grand Prix, because getting onto the grid took years of lobbying and approvals.
Andretti's Bid Becomes Cadillac
Andretti’s push for an F1 entry teamed up with General Motors in 2023, and Formula One Management turned it down in January 2024. The project was rebuilt around TWG and Cadillac, and in November 2024 it won agreement in principle to join the grid in 2026.
Cleared for the Grid
Final approval came in 2025, and Cadillac spent the year recruiting and building its first car. Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas signed in August. The reported $450m anti-dilution fee was the price of entry, paid once, and it isn’t the team’s value or its annual spend.
The 11th Team Arrives
Cadillac joined as the grid’s 11th team and inherits nothing from Sauber, Audi or anyone else. The MAC-26 uses Ferrari power units, and the operation runs across sites in the UK and the US, with Silverstone listed as the official base.
Still Chasing a First Point
Eighteen Grands Prix in, Cadillac has started every race but hasn’t scored. Its best finish is 13th and it sits 11th in the constructors’ standings, with 14 car retirements along the way. Marcin Budkowski replaced Graeme Lowdon as team principal during the summer break.
GM Power on the Way
GM Performance Power Units was approved in April 2025 to supply F1 engines from 2029, which would make Cadillac a full works team. Ferrari provides the power until then. TWG and Mark Walter keep control, while GM brings equity and the engine program.
Quick Answers on the Cadillac F1 Team
Cadillac’s F1 team is worth $1.6bn on PlanetF1’s August 2026 valuation, the lowest on the grid. It’s a market estimate of what an F1 entry is worth rather than a sale price, and it shouldn’t be confused with the $450m entry fee or the money spent setting the team up.
Cadillac paid a $450m anti-dilution fee to join F1, as reported by Sportico and Forbes. The money goes to the existing teams to compensate them for sharing prize money with an 11th entry. Some reports put it nearer $500m, but that’s a competing figure for the same fee, not a second payment.
TWG and Mark Walter control the Cadillac F1 team, and General Motors is a confirmed equity owner. The exact split hasn’t been published. Reports of GM holding options on a bigger stake describe a possible future move rather than what it owns today, and the team has no ownership link to Sauber.
Cadillac’s 2026 driver bill is $15m in base salary, with $10m going to Sergio Pérez and $5m to Valtteri Bottas. Both signed two-year contracts, announced on August 26, 2025, that run to the end of 2027 and are worth $20m for Pérez and $10m for Bottas.
Cadillac hasn’t published its pay scales, so the best guide to a mechanic’s pay is the industry benchmark of around $75k a year. The team reportedly paid above the going rate to recruit staff in the UK and US for its first season, but nobody has put a figure on that premium. Number one mechanics sit nearer $100k.
No, Cadillac isn’t the old Sauber team under a new name. It joined F1 in 2026 as a brand-new 11th entry, while Sauber’s operation in Hinwil became Audi’s works team. None of Sauber’s results or finances carry over to Cadillac’s record.
Ferrari supplies Cadillac’s power units in 2026, not GM. General Motors’ engine arm, GM Performance Power Units, was approved in April 2025 to supply F1 from 2029, so GM power is a future step for the team rather than something fitted to the current MAC-26.
Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas race for Cadillac in 2026, and both are signed to the end of 2027. Swiss newspaper Blick reported in October that the team may not keep both for 2027, although Cadillac hasn’t commented. Colton Herta is the team’s test and reserve driver and has run in practice sessions, but a tough rookie season in F2 has left him short of the superlicence points he needs for a race seat.
