Sergio Pérez earns a base salary of $10m from Cadillac in 2026, his first F1 race salary since Red Bull cut short his contract after the 2024 season. That’s $2m below his final Red Bull base of $12m, and level with what the team paid him in 2022 and 2023.
It works out at about $435k per Grand Prix. Cadillac is paying for 14 seasons of experience rather than recent results, having signed him after a full year without a race seat.

How Much Could Checo Add in Bonuses?
Performance incentives could add around $1.5m and lift his potential income to $11.5m, although Cadillac has yet to score a point in its debut season. Red Bull once paid him $16m in bonuses in a single year. A reported share of merchandise sales sits outside these figures.

Sergio Pérez Cadillac Contract Details
Cadillac announced Pérez on August 26, 2025 as one half of its first F1 line-up, alongside Valtteri Bottas. His contract began with the 2026 season and runs for two years to the end of 2027. At $10m a season, it’s worth about $20m in base salary.
A third season is the open question. Reports at the time of signing mentioned a performance-based option for 2028, and that third year has since been discussed, but nothing beyond 2027 has been signed. He’s under contract for this season and next, and his 2026 results are likely to shape any talk of 2028.
Pérez’s F1 pay history covers 15 seasons and six team names, starting on about $278k at Sauber in 2011. The stints below follow his climb through the midfield to $26m a year at Red Bull, and on to Cadillac. Those earnings sit behind his estimated $70m net worth.

Why Cadillac Chose Pérez for Its First Season
Cadillac wanted proven race winners for its debut season, and Pérez brings 299 Grand Prix starts and six victories.
Six Grand Prix wins. He’s won in Sakhir, Monaco, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and twice in Baku, more than any other Mexican driver in F1 history.
A championship runner-up. He finished second to Max Verstappen in 2023 with 285 points, the best championship result in his F1 career stats.
Results in midfield cars. He scored podiums for Sauber, Force India, and Racing Point long before Red Bull, so he knows how to get the most from a car that was never expected to win.
Deep experience. His 299 Grand Prix starts give a brand-new team years of set-up and race knowledge that no rookie could bring.
A loyal following. As Mexico’s leading F1 driver, he brings a huge Mexican fan base to an American team.
How Pérez Compares With Bottas on Pay
Pérez earns twice as much as Valtteri Bottas, with a $10m base against $5m. Including both bonus scenarios, he leads $11.5m to $7m. Neither driver has scored a point in 2026, so Cadillac’s first season has yet to give either of them the edge on track.
Sergio Pérez is under contract with Cadillac until the end of 2027. The two-year deal was announced on August 26, 2025, began with this season and is worth about $20m in base salary. A third year for 2028 has been discussed, but it hasn’t been signed and isn’t guaranteed. Swiss newspaper Blick reported in October that Cadillac may not keep both Pérez and Valtteri Bottas for 2027, with Bottas seen as the more likely to go. Cadillac hasn’t commented.
Cadillac pays Sergio Pérez a base salary of $10m in 2026, which comes to about $435k per race. Performance incentives could add around $1.5m, for potential income of $11.5m. He’s also reported to receive a share of merchandise sales, which isn’t included in those figures.
Red Bull has never officially revealed how much it paid Sergio Pérez to end his contract, which still had two years to run. Helmut Marko confirmed in December 2024 that releasing him cost the team millions. That payment was compensation rather than race pay, so it isn’t counted in his salary figures for 2025.
Sergio Pérez earned $18m-26m a year at Red Bull from 2021 to 2024 once bonuses are added to his base salary. His best seasons were 2022 and 2023, when a $10m base and $16m in bonuses brought him $26m each year.
His base rose to $12m in 2024, but his bonuses fell to $7.5m.
Sergio Pérez makes about $833k a month from his $10m Cadillac base salary in 2026, or roughly $27k a day. With the $1.5m bonus scenario added, his monthly figure rises to $958k.
These are illustrative averages, and Cadillac may pay him on a different schedule.
Sergio Pérez earns more than Valtteri Bottas at Cadillac, with a $10m base salary that’s double Bottas’s $5m. With bonus scenarios included he leads $11.5m to $7m, and both drivers are signed with the team through 2027.
