What Is Dell Technologies' McLaren Deal Worth?
Nine seasons into the partnership, nobody has published what Dell Technologies pays McLaren, and our figure is $8m a year. It prices the Official Innovation Partner rights, because much of what Dell contributes arrives as servers and storage, and neither side has said how the deal splits between hardware and cash.
That’s about half of Google‘s $15m at the same team. The gap to HP is far wider, as Dell’s old PC rival pays Ferrari a reported $100m to have its name in the team title.
The $8m deal equals about 37 minutes of Dell Technologies' $113.5bn revenue.
McLaren's Dell page naming it Official Innovation Partner since 2018, the rights our $8m figure reflects.

How the Dell Technologies McLaren Partnership Works
Dell Technologies sells PCs, servers, storage and networking gear to businesses and consumers from Round Rock, Texas, where Michael Dell is chairman and chief executive. Revenue for fiscal 2026, the year to January 30, 2026, was $113.5bn.
McLaren lists Dell as its Official Innovation Partner. The multiyear renewal announced on February 17, 2026 covers the F1 team and its sim racing squad, with PowerEdge servers, PowerStore and PowerScale storage and Dell’s AI Factory running simulation, digital twin and CFD work. Dell says the setup handles up to 1.5TB of data each race weekend.

Why Does Dell Technologies Back McLaren?
Dell Technologies is selling AI hardware to companies that want faster decisions, and McLaren has to make them inside a qualifying session. The team uses the AI Factory to read radar and satellite weather feeds, choose tires and decide whether a driver should go out for another run.
Dell also signed at a low point. McLaren had finished ninth in the 2017 constructors’ standings a few months earlier, so Dell’s hardware has been part of the whole climb back. Keeping the sim racing squad in the deal makes sense for a company that also sells Alienware gaming PCs.

Dell Technologies F1 Sponsorship History
McLaren is the only F1 team Dell Technologies has sponsored, and the relationship has narrowed over time to the race team and its sim racers after starting out across the whole McLaren Group.
Dell Technologies and McLaren Questions
Yes, Dell Technologies sponsors F1 through McLaren, where it’s the Official Innovation Partner, and it has no deal with any other team. The partnership started in 2018 and was renewed in February 2026, so Dell’s name has stayed with McLaren through its rebuild and its recent championships.
Dell Technologies has worked with McLaren since February 2018, which makes 2026 its ninth season with the team. The first agreement took in the whole McLaren Group, while the current one, extended on February 17, 2026, focuses on the F1 team and its sim racing squad.
At the track Dell Technologies provides the computing behind McLaren’s AI Factory, built on PowerEdge servers and Dell storage. Engineers use it during sessions to process sensor, radar and satellite data, and that feeds decisions on weather, tire choice and when to send a driver out in qualifying.
Dell Technologies’ payment to McLaren has never been reported, so F1 Salaries uses a figure of $8m a year. It’s based on the Official Innovation Partner rights, and it doesn’t try to separate cash from the servers and storage Dell supplies, since neither company has published that split.
