A department head’s band of £180k-350k ($239k-464k) is F1 Salaries’ figure for Carine Cridelich’s base pay at Haas. Bonus on top, at £18k-105k ($24k-139k), would put her year at £198k-455k ($262k-603k).
Her 2025 move from Racing Bulls was a step up as well as a change of team. She’d been a senior strategy engineer in Faenza, and at Haas she runs the department and leads the race plans for both cars.

What Each Point Now Costs Red Bull
Race strategy at Haas is Cridelich’s department. She prepares the plans before each Grand Prix and makes the live calls when a race doesn’t follow them. Her group works from simulations and data analysis on tire life and pit windows.
She works alongside chief race engineer Francesco Nenci and the race engineers for Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman. Modeling is her strength. Her doctoral work and a 2015 Williams internship both relied on data mining, and she carried those methods into F1 strategy at Toro Rosso a year later.
Her old engineering school interviews her about her studies, her doctorate and her move into F1 strategy.
Covers the January 2025 Haas announcement that named Cridelich as head of race strategy.

Cridelich’s £180k-350k ($239k-464k) matches the band for Red Bull’s Hannah Schmitz and Ferrari’s Ravin Jain, the other heads of race strategy with pages here. All three do the same job for teams of very different size. The F1 strategy staff hub lists the rest.
Cridelich trained as a mechanical engineer in France and Germany and worked in automotive safety before strategy work at the Faenza team made her an F1 regular.
Cridelich is one of three senior trackside arrivals Haas announced on January 21, 2025. Francesco Nenci came in as chief race engineer and Mark Lowe returned as sporting director, and all three work under team principal Ayao Komatsu in the race operation.
Carine Cridelich started at Haas on March 1, 2025. The team had announced her appointment as head of race strategy on January 21 that year, along with other trackside changes, so about six weeks passed between the news and her first day in the job.
Racing Bulls is the team Carine Cridelich left. She’d spent her whole full-time F1 career with the Faenza outfit, joining its strategy group in 2016 when it raced as Toro Rosso and rising to senior strategy engineer by 2024. It was a move between teams, not a promotion inside Haas.
Carine Cridelich is French, not Belgian, although some profiles have listed her that way. She studied mechanical engineering at ENSMM in Besançon, the school now known as Supmicrotech, and took a dual degree with Karlsruhe in Germany before working for TRW there.
F1 Salaries puts Carine Cridelich’s base salary at Haas at £180k-350k ($239k-464k). A bonus of £18k-105k ($24k-139k) would lift her year to £198k-455k ($262k-603k). Haas keeps staff pay private, and there’s no credible figure for her net worth.
As head of race strategy, Carine Cridelich plans how Haas runs each race and makes the live calls when conditions change. Her group studies tire wear, pit windows and simulated race scenarios for both cars. She did strategy work for nine seasons at the Faenza team before Haas hired her.
