Esteban Ocon earns a base salary of $7m from Haas in 2026, the same figure he signed for when he left Alpine. It’s the highest salary of his career and $1m more than Alpine paid him in each of his last two seasons there.
That comes to about $304k for every race on the 23-round calendar. His pay has crept up rather than jumped, rising by only $2m since Renault brought him back on $5m in 2020.
His former Force India boss recalls paying him under a million for 2017 but doesn't say in which currency.

Can Ocon Add a Bonus This Season?
A strong season could add around $2m in bonuses and lift his potential income to $9m. That depends on results, though, and seven points so far in 2026 leave Ocon needing a much stronger finish to collect a meaningful share of it. Four of those seven points came from eighth place in Baku on September 26.

Esteban Ocon's Haas Contract and His Exit After 2026
Ocon is in the second and final season of the Haas contract announced on July 25, 2024. The two-year deal started in 2025 and runs to the end of 2026, and at $7m a season it’s worth about $14m in base salary.
Ocon confirmed on September 30 that his time at Haas will end after the 2026 season, and team principal Ayao Komatsu thanked him for his experience and input through the new regulations. Haas didn’t exercise the 2027 option it was reported to hold, and on October 15 it named Ferrari junior Rafael Câmara as his replacement on a multi-year deal. Ocon says his F1 career isn’t over.
RacingNews365 reported on October 24 that his management has contacted Cadillac, whose team principal Marcin Budkowski worked with him at Alpine, but The Race reported the same day that he isn’t expected to land a seat there. Both outlets point to a reserve role in 2027, possibly at Aston Martin, before a push for a race seat in 2028. None of this has been confirmed, and no figures have been reported.
Ocon’s F1 pay has climbed in steps rather than leaps. He earned about $214k for nine races at Manor in 2016 and is on $7m at Haas today, with a year on the sidelines in between. Those earnings sit behind his estimated $21m net worth.

Pre-season survey giving his $7m base for his first year at Haas.
Why Haas Signed Ocon on $7m a Year
Haas wanted race-winning experience beside rookie Oliver Bearman in 2025, and Ocon’s record explains why he cost $7m.
A Grand Prix winner. His victory at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix makes him the only race winner in the current Haas line-up.
Podiums in midfield cars. He’s finished on the podium in Sakhir, Hungary, Monaco, and Brazil, all with Renault or Alpine machinery that rarely ran at the front.
Plenty of mileage. He brings 198 Grand Prix starts since 2016 to a team whose other driver had started only three races before 2025.
A fair market price. Alpine paid him $6m in each of his final two seasons, so a $7m offer was a modest step up rather than a gamble.
Quick to score. His season-by-season stats show 38 points in his first Haas season, only three fewer than Bearman.
Ocon vs Bearman on Pay and Points
Ocon’s $7m base is seven times Oliver Bearman’s $1m, and with both bonus scenarios included the gap is $9m against $1.5m. The points table tells a different story. Bearman leads their 2026 battle 23 to 7, after also finishing ahead in 2025 with 41 points to Ocon’s 38.
Esteban Ocon is on a two-year Haas contract that was announced on July 25, 2024. It covered 2025 and 2026, so it expires when this season ends. At $7m a year, the deal is worth about $14m in base salary. Any bonuses depend on results and come on top.
Haas pays Esteban Ocon a $7m base salary in 2026, which works out at about $304k per race across the 23-race calendar. A strong season could add around $2m in bonuses and take his potential income to $9m. Any personal sponsorship income sits outside those figures.
Esteban Ocon makes about $583k a month from his $7m Haas base salary in 2026, or roughly $19k a day. Adding the $2m bonus scenario lifts his monthly figure to $750k.
These are averages worked out from his annual pay, and Haas may pay him on a different schedule.
Esteban Ocon doesn’t have an F1 seat for 2027 yet. He confirmed on September 30 that he’ll leave Haas when his contract ends after this season, and Haas has signed Rafael Câmara to replace him. RacingNews365 reported on October 24 that his management has contacted Cadillac, where team principal Marcin Budkowski worked with him at Alpine, but The Race reported the same day that he isn’t expected to get that seat. Both outlets see a reserve role, possibly at Aston Martin, as his most likely 2027 option, with a return to racing in 2028 the aim. None of these options has been confirmed.
Esteban Ocon is leaving Haas. He confirmed on September 30, 2026, that he’ll depart when his two-year contract ends after this season, and team principal Ayao Komatsu thanked him for his experience through the new regulations. Haas named Ferrari junior Rafael Câmara as his replacement on October 15, on a multi-year deal from 2027.
Esteban Ocon earned a $5m base salary at Alpine in 2021 and 2022, rising to $6m in 2023 and 2024, after also earning $5m in 2020 when the team raced as Renault. His best Alpine season was 2022, when he scored 92 points and finished eighth, and his move to Haas lifted his base to $7m.
