INEOS
Mercedes F1 Sponsor

How Much Is INEOS' F1 Sponsorship Worth?
INEOS’ Mercedes sponsorship is worth £20m ($26.5m) a year on our numbers, carried forward from an older BlackBook Motorsport benchmark because no current fee has been published. That covers the principal partnership only. INEOS also owns a third of the team, and the stake is an investment with its own value rather than a sponsorship payment.
It ranks fourth at Mercedes, behind PETRONAS, Microsoft and adidas’ $30m kit deal. BWT’s title partnership at Alpine is valued a little lower, at $25m.
The $26.5m deal equals about 14 hours of INEOS's $16.31bn revenue.

How the INEOS Mercedes Deal Works
INEOS is a privately owned chemicals group based in London, founded and chaired by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, with interests in energy, cars and sport. There’s no confirmed figure for the whole group. Its INEOS Group Holdings arm reported 2025 revenue of €14.3bn ($16.31bn) and a net loss of €658.5m ($750.9m).
The principal partnership began in 2020 on a five-year agreement, and INEOS still holds that tier in 2026 alongside CrowdStrike and Microsoft. No renewal or end date has been announced. Its shareholding is a separate arrangement, with Mercedes-Benz holding another third.

What Does INEOS Get From Mercedes?
INEOS mostly sells chemicals to other manufacturers, so it isn’t on the car to win over shoppers. The link started with engineering, through a performance partnership signed in late 2019 that put Mercedes-Benz Applied Science experts to work with the INEOS sports teams.
Sport matters to Ratcliffe’s group well beyond F1. It owns OGC Nice, Lausanne-Sport and a cycling team and has invested in Manchester United, and at Mercedes it’s a sponsor and a shareholder at once, so a team leading the 2026 standings pays off for it twice over.

INEOS F1 Sponsorship History
INEOS’ F1 involvement runs entirely through Mercedes, and within a year of its sponsorship starting it had also bought a third of the team.
INEOS F1 Sponsor Questions
INEOS sponsors one F1 team, Mercedes, where it’s been a principal partner since 2020. In 2026 it shares that tier with CrowdStrike and Microsoft under title partner PETRONAS, and it also owns a third of the team as a separate investment.
Yes, INEOS owns a third of the Mercedes F1 team and sponsors it as a principal partner, and the two arrangements are separate. The stake dates from December 2020, and its value isn’t part of the £20m ($26.5m) a year sponsorship figure on this page.
F1 Salaries values INEOS’ Mercedes sponsorship at £20m ($26.5m) a year, carried forward from an older BlackBook Motorsport benchmark. Neither company has disclosed a current fee. The figure leaves out INEOS’ shareholding and any engineering work shared between the team and the INEOS sports operations.
INEOS’ 2020 agreement was for five years, which would ordinarily cover the 2020 to 2024 seasons, yet Mercedes still lists INEOS as a principal partner in 2026. No renewal, extension or new end date has been announced, so the current terms aren’t public.
INEOS is a London-based chemicals group founded by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who’s still its chairman. Its businesses also cover energy, cars and sport, and its INEOS Group Holdings arm reported €14.3bn ($16.31bn) of revenue in 2025, though that’s only part of the wider group.
