Liam Lawson’s salary is $1m at Racing Bulls in 2026, the same base he was on in 2025. The reported figure hasn’t changed since his promotion to Red Bull at the start of last year.
Across 23 Grands Prix, that base is worth roughly $43k a race. It’s a big step up on the estimated $227k and $250k from his partial seasons in 2023 and 2024, yet it still leaves him among the four lowest-paid drivers in F1.

What Lawson Could Add in Bonuses
Bonuses could add around $1m in a strong season and double Lawson’s potential income to $2m. No per-point schedule has been published for him, so treat it as a scenario, although 77 points after the United States Grand Prix is already the best tally in his F1 career stats by some distance. That puts him ninth in the championship, the highest of either Racing Bulls driver.

Liam Lawson's Contract and the 2027 Question
Lawson’s current contract covers the 2026 season only. Red Bull confirmed his Racing Bulls seat on December 2, 2025, in the same announcement that promoted Isack Hadjar to Red Bull and brought in rookie Arvid Lindblad as his teammate. It’s a one-year deal worth about $1m in base salary.
The three rounds he spent at Red Bull while Hadjar was injured were a loan, and he was back at Racing Bulls for Baku. Nothing is signed for 2027. Talks are ongoing, but with Max Verstappen and Hadjar both confirmed at Red Bull for next season, Racing Bulls is his most obvious option.
Every season of Lawson’s F1 career has been spent inside the Red Bull system, and in 2025 and 2026 he raced for both of its teams. The stints below follow his pay through each switch. Those earnings sit behind his estimated $1.3m net worth.

Why Lawson Is Still on $1m
Red Bull has kept Lawson on a $1m base for two seasons, but his 2026 form gives him a stronger case than that salary suggests.
The go-to stand-in. Red Bull chose him when the injured Isack Hadjar missed three rounds.
Clear of his teammate. His 77 points put him 39 ahead of rookie Arvid Lindblad in the same car.
A career-best year. He passed his 2025 total of 38 points with races still to run.
A low-cost option. His $1m base is less than a seventh of the $7.5m Hadjar earns at Red Bull, which makes him cheap to keep in the system.
No 2027 deal yet. Until a new contract is signed, $1m remains the only salary on record for him.
Lawson vs Lindblad at Racing Bulls
Lawson’s $1m base matches the top of Arvid Lindblad’s $500k-1m band, so he earns the same as his teammate or up to twice as much. Bonus scenarios give Lawson $2m against Lindblad’s $1m-1.5m. The points gap is much clearer, with Lawson on 77 to the rookie’s 38 after the United States Grand Prix.
Liam Lawson gets paid a base salary of $1m at Racing Bulls in 2026, the same figure reported for 2025. That works out at roughly $43k per Grand Prix. A strong season could add around $1m in bonuses, which would take his potential income to $2m for the year.

Lawson also leads on points, with 77 to the rookie’s 38 after the United States Grand Prix.
Not yet. Liam Lawson had no confirmed contract for 2027 as of late September 2026, although talks over his future are ongoing. Red Bull has already confirmed Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar for next season, so staying at Racing Bulls is his clearest route. His current one-year deal ends with the 2026 season.
