Lewis Hamilton Salary 2026 in His Second Ferrari Year
Lewis Hamilton’s base salary at Ferrari is $60m in 2026, second only to Max Verstappen’s $70m on the grid. Bigger numbers in the Italian press fold in bonuses and personal agreements, so they describe his whole package rather than what Ferrari pays him to race.
His base has stayed in the $55m-60m range every season since 2021, and at 41 he still collects about $2.61m for each of the 23 Grands Prix.
Keeps his current pay at $60m and expects a rise later, although it names no agreed new salary.

How Bonuses Could Lift Hamilton to $70m
Hamilton is winning races again, and a season like this could add around $10m in bonuses. That would take his potential income to $70m, a big step up from the $500k bonus he received in his first year in red. His 2026 season stats put him third in the championship on 241 points after fourth place at the United States Grand Prix, and his win in Barcelona in June was his first Grand Prix victory for Ferrari.

Lewis Hamilton's Contract and Salary at Ferrari
Ferrari announced Hamilton’s move on February 1, 2024, before he had even started his final season with Mercedes. The deal he races under began in 2025 and has a reported core term of two years, so it runs to the end of 2026.
His $60m base in both 2025 and 2026 makes those two seasons worth $120m. Bonuses sit on top and have been small so far, with $500k in 2025. Next year is already settled as well, since Hamilton confirmed in May that he’ll stay for 2027.
Is Hamilton Staying at Ferrari in 2027?
Hamilton said on May 21, 2026 that he’d race for Ferrari again in 2027, and later reports describe it as an option in his current deal being activated rather than a fresh contract. It adds one more season, to the end of 2027, worth $60m if his base carries over. A 2028 option has also been reported, but nothing about that year is settled.
Hamilton has raced in F1 every season since 2007, and his pay has grown from a $500k rookie base at McLaren to $60m at Ferrari. Each stint below sets out what he earned and what he won for it. Those earnings sit behind his estimated $580m net worth.

What Makes Hamilton Worth $60m to Ferrari?
Ferrari is paying for the most successful driver in F1 history, and at 41 he’s still scoring more points than his teammate.
The record books. His 106 wins and 104 poles are both all-time F1 records, and he shares the record of seven titles with Michael Schumacher.
Winning again. His 241 points put him third in the 2026 standings, one behind George Russell and eight clear of Charles Leclerc.
The Mercedes benchmark. Ferrari’s $60m opening salary in 2025 comfortably beat the $55m a year he had earned at Mercedes since 2021.
Knowing how titles are won. Six of his seven championships came during Mercedes’ run of eight straight constructors’ titles from 2014 to 2021.
Commercial pull. Ferrari’s share price jumped when news of his signing broke in February 2024.
Hamilton vs Leclerc on Pay and Points
