F1 Team Value & Salaries
Scuderia Ferrari Net Worth in 2026
PlanetF1 valued Scuderia Ferrari at $7.1bn in August 2026, which makes it the most valuable team in F1. Forbes had it at $6.5bn in its 2025 ranking. The $7.1bn covers the racing team alone, so it isn’t the stock market value of Ferrari N.V. and road car sales play no part in it.
The F1 side pays its own way. Forbes credits it with $670m of revenue in 2024 and an $80m operating profit, while Sportico’s model comes out higher at $725m and $152m. Hamilton and Leclerc take $94m in base salary between them, the biggest driver bill on the grid.

Ferrari F1 Driver Salaries for Hamilton and Leclerc

Lewis Hamilton

Charles Leclerc

Ferrari spends $94m on its two drivers in 2026, the biggest driver bill of any team. Lewis Hamilton’s salary of $60m is second only to Max Verstappen’s. He moved to Maranello on a two-year contract covering 2025 and 2026, and he’s since extended for 2027 on a one-year deal at the same $60m.
Charles Leclerc’s salary is $34m a year on a $64m deal that also ends in 2026. His next contract is already signed. It’s worth $95.8m, starts in 2027 and runs to the end of 2028, with two one-year options after that.
Projected years come from signed deals, using reported figures where they exist and estimates where they don't. TBC means that seat isn't signed yet.

Who Owns Ferrari's F1 Team?
Scuderia Ferrari isn’t a separate company with its own shareholders. It runs inside Ferrari N.V., the carmaker listed in New York and Milan, so the team belongs to that company’s investors. Exor, the Agnelli family’s holding company, is the biggest with 21.33% of the ordinary shares and 32.32% of the votes, although that doesn’t mean Exor owns the team outright.
Enzo’s son Piero Ferrari holds 10.67% of the shares and 16.17% of the votes through a trust, and BlackRock owns 3.8%. Public investors own the remaining 64.2%. Fiat bought half of Ferrari in 1969, but the two have been separate companies since Ferrari was spun off from Fiat Chrysler in 2016.

Ferrari's F1 Championship Record Since 1950
No team has won more. Ferrari’s 1,142 Grand Prix entries since 1950 have produced 250 wins, 848 podium finishes, 254 poles and 16 constructors’ titles, and its drivers have won 15 world championships, the last of them Kimi Räikkönen’s in 2007.
The best run came with Michael Schumacher, when Ferrari won six straight constructors’ titles between 1999 and 2004 and took 15 victories in both 2002 and 2004. It hasn’t won a championship since 2008, but it’s second in 2026 with 474 points and two wins. Lewis Hamilton won in Barcelona and Charles Leclerc at Silverstone.

Ferrari F1 Team History, Era by Era
Ferrari is the only team that’s raced in every Formula 1 season since 1950, and its story starts two decades earlier in Modena.
Modena Roots and Ascari's Double
Enzo Ferrari founded the Scuderia in Modena in 1929 and ran Alfa Romeos for years before building his own cars. The team made its world championship debut at Monaco in 1950, José Froilán González won at Silverstone in 1951 and Alberto Ascari was champion in 1952 and 1953.
The First Constructors' Crowns
Juan Manuel Fangio won the 1956 drivers’ title for Ferrari and Mike Hawthorn followed in 1958, the year the constructors’ championship began. Ferrari first won that trophy in 1961, when Phil Hill became America’s first world champion, and John Surtees then took both titles in 1964.
Lauda and a Hat Trick
Niki Lauda turned Ferrari back into a winner, and the team took three straight constructors’ titles in 1975, 1976 and 1977. Lauda was champion in 1975 and again in 1977, a year after his fiery Nürburgring crash. Jody Scheckter won both crowns in 1979, and Ferrari then waited until 2000 for another drivers’ title.
Heartbreak and a Long Rebuild
Ferrari won the constructors’ title in 1982 and 1983, even though 1982 brought Gilles Villeneuve’s death at Zolder and the injuries that ended Didier Pironi’s career. A long rebuild followed. Michael Schumacher joined in 1996 and made Ferrari a title contender again in 1997 and 1998.
Six Straight Constructors' Titles
Ferrari won the constructors’ championship every year between 1999 and 2004, and Schumacher added five drivers’ titles in a row from 2000. It won 15 races in 2002. Two years later it won 15 of the 18 Grands Prix, and rivals barely got a look in.
Raikkonen and the Last Trophies
Renault beat Ferrari to both titles in 2005 and 2006, Schumacher’s last season with the team. Kimi Raikkonen then won the 2007 drivers’ championship by one point, Ferrari took the constructors’ title in 2007 and 2008, and Felipe Massa lost the 2008 drivers’ crown on the last lap of the season.
Contenders Without a Crown
Fernando Alonso took the title fight to the final race in 2010 and 2012 and lost both times. Sebastian Vettel won three races in his first Ferrari season in 2015 and led further challenges in 2017 and 2018. By 2020 the team had dropped to sixth on 131 points, its worst finish since 1980.
Race Winners Again
Ferrari climbed back to third in 2021 and second in 2022, when it took 12 poles. Carlos Sainz’s victory in Singapore was the team’s only win of 2023. Five wins in 2024 kept Ferrari in the constructors’ fight until the final race, and it finished second behind McLaren.
The Hamilton Era Begins
Lewis Hamilton joined for 2025, a season that ended in fourth place on 398 points without a Grand Prix win, although Ferrari did take the China sprint. Two Grand Prix victories in 2026 have it second on 474 points, but its last title is still the 2008 constructors’ crown.
Ferrari F1 Team Questions Answered
At $7.1bn, Scuderia Ferrari is the most valuable team in F1, based on PlanetF1’s August 2026 figures. Forbes valued it at $6.5bn in 2025. The number covers the racing team only, so it isn’t Ferrari N.V.’s stock market value and doesn’t include road car sales.
The Ferrari F1 team is owned by Ferrari N.V., the publicly listed carmaker, rather than by one person or fund. Exor, the Agnelli family’s holding company, is the largest shareholder with 21.33% of the shares and 32.32% of the votes. Piero Ferrari’s trust has 10.67%, and public investors own most of the rest.
No, Fiat doesn’t own 50% of Ferrari anymore. It bought half the company in 1969 and later raised that stake, but Ferrari became a separate listed business when it was spun off from Fiat Chrysler in 2016. Its biggest shareholder today is Exor, with 32.32% of the voting rights, and the Piero Ferrari trust holds 16.17%.
Yes, Ferrari’s F1 team makes money. Forbes estimates $670m of revenue and an $80m operating profit for 2024, and that leaves out Ferrari’s customer engine business. Sportico’s model is more generous at $725m and $152m, and it had the team in profit in 2022 and 2023 as well.
Ferrari has won 16 constructors’ championships, the most of any F1 team. They came in 1961, 1964, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1979, 1982, 1983, every year between 1999 and 2004, then 2007 and 2008. Ferrari drivers have added 15 world titles, most recently in 2007.
Ferrari does still win in F1, with two Grand Prix victories in 2026 so far. The drought is in championships. Kimi Raikkonen’s 2007 drivers’ title and the 2008 constructors’ crown are its last, although Ferrari was runner-up in 2022 and 2024 and sits second again this season.
Ferrari hasn’t disclosed what its F1 engineers earn, but the industry benchmark for a race engineer is about $135k a year. A number one mechanic is nearer $100k and a race mechanic around $75k. Those are industry-wide figures, and Italian employment terms at Maranello won’t match UK pay guides exactly.
