Bryan Bozzi’s base salary as Charles Leclerc’s race engineer is £100k-180k ($133k-239k) on our figures, F1 Salaries’ band for a race engineer. A bonus of £10k-54k ($13k-72k) would make his year £110k-234k ($146k-310k).
His May 2024 step up changed his job, but there’s no public sign it came with a new contract or a bonus tied to Leclerc’s results. The driver he works with is paid on a different scale entirely.

What Each Point Now Costs Red Bull
Bozzi plans Charles Leclerc‘s practice running and set-up work, coordinates the engineers on car 16 and handles the technical side of the radio. He works within Matteo Togninalli‘s track engineering group.
In Ferrari’s June 2024 Canadian Grand Prix preview, Bozzi explained how his job differs from the performance engineer role he’d held for five years, which centers on the data, and from a driver coach, who works on technique. The race engineer is the one who turns all of that into a plan for the weekend.

Bozzi’s £100k-180k ($133k-239k) band is standard for F1 race engineers who don’t also run a department. Mercedes’ Marcus Dudley sits on it with George Russell, while Will Joseph at McLaren is on £200k-450k ($265k-596k) because he also leads race engineering.
Bozzi joined Ferrari from the University of Bath in 2012 and spent five seasons as Leclerc’s performance engineer before taking over his radio.
Bozzi and Carlo Santi share the same £100k-180k ($133k-239k) band, one on each side of the garage. Above them, Matteo Togninalli runs track engineering on £180k-350k ($239k-464k), the same level as strategy chief Ravin Jain. The Ferrari page has the rest.
Bryan Bozzi is Charles Leclerc’s race engineer at Ferrari. He took over from Xavier Marcos in May 2024 after five seasons as Leclerc’s performance engineer, so he already knew the driver well. He’s the engineer Leclerc talks to on the radio in every session.
As a race engineer, Bozzi plans the running and set-up of Leclerc’s car, coordinates its engineers and speaks to Leclerc on the radio. His old performance engineer job, which he held from 2019, focused on the car’s data and fed what it showed to the race engineer.
Ferrari moved Bryan Bozzi into Xavier Marcos’s seat in May 2024, and their first race was at Imola that month. Marcos went to other work within Ferrari and is now chief race engineer at Cadillac. A week after the switch, Leclerc won in Monaco.
Bryan Bozzi’s race engineer band is £100k-180k ($133k-239k) in base salary on our figures, with a bonus of £10k-54k ($13k-72k). That makes £110k-234k ($146k-310k) for the year. Ferrari doesn’t publish engineers’ pay, and there’s no public bonus formula linked to Leclerc.
Rome is where Bryan Bozzi was born, on September 27, 1989. He’s Italian with an Italian-Danish background, and he studied mechanical engineering at the University of Bath in England, where he also competed in Formula Student, before Ferrari hired him in 2012.
