How Bonuses Could Lift Verstappen to $90m
Results decide the rest. A strong season could add around $20m, the bonus he collected during his 2022 title run, and lift his potential income for 2026 to $90m. His last two bonuses were smaller, at $15m in 2024 and $11m in 2025. Podiums at Monza, Madrid, and Baku came before his first win of 2026, from pole at the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia on October 4. He then won the Singapore sprint on October 10 and the Grand Prix from pole a day later, his first win at Marina Bay, and third place at the United States Grand Prix leaves him fourth in the championship on 236 points, as his 2026 season stats show.

Max Verstappen Contract Terms in 2026
Verstappen is racing this season under the long-term contract Red Bull announced on March 3, 2022. Its five-year term runs from 2024 to the end of 2028, and on reported salaries of $60m, $65m and then $70m a season it’s worth about $335m in base pay.
Only the first three of those seasons will be paid at the 2022 rates. The extension confirmed on August 20, 2026 brings in new pay from 2027, so 2026 is the last of three seasons worth $195m in base salary under the old terms. Bonuses sit on top and depend on results.
Max Verstappen New Contract Salary From 2027
Red Bull announced on August 20, 2026 that Verstappen will stay until the end of 2030. The new pay starts in 2027 and is reported at €92m ($104.9m) a year in base salary, or $419.6m over the four seasons. Why Verstappen Is the Highest-Paid Driver in F1
Red Bull pays Verstappen $10m more than any other driver earns, and his record since 2021 explains why.
Four straight titles. He won every championship from 2021 to 2024 and has 73 wins and 50 poles from 251 starts.
A points record. His 575 points in 2023 are still the most any driver has scored in a single season.
Two points from a fifth crown. Even in a year he didn’t win, he finished 2025 just behind Lando Norris, 421 points to 423.
Red Bull through and through. Every race of his career has come with Red Bull or its sister team Toro Rosso, and his extension runs to 2030.
Setting the market. His $70m base is $10m clear of Lewis Hamilton, and the reported €92m ($104.9m) from 2027 would widen that lead.
Verstappen vs Hadjar on Pay and Points
Verstappen’s $70m base is more than nine times the $7.5m Isack Hadjar earns in the second Red Bull, which is the widest pay gap between any two teammates in F1. With bonus scenarios added it becomes $90m against $9.5m. On track, Verstappen leads 236 points to 105, although Hadjar has missed three races.
Red Bull pays Max Verstappen a base salary of $70m in 2026, the highest in Formula 1. It’s risen every season since 2024, when it stood at $60m. A strong year could add around $20m in bonuses. His base then moves to a reported €92m ($104.9m) from 2027 under his new contract.
Max Verstappen makes about $3.04m per race from his $70m Red Bull base salary in 2026, the highest salary in Formula 1. With the $20m bonus scenario included, his per-race average rises to $3.91m.
Red Bull doesn’t pay him race by race, so these figures simply spread his yearly pay across the calendar.
From 2027, Max Verstappen is reported to earn a €92m base salary, which is about $104.9m and almost $35m more than he earns in 2026. Reporter Marc Limacher first published the figure and added that bonuses could take a season to €115m ($131.1m). Red Bull has confirmed the contract but not the pay.
