How Much Are Chinese Grand Prix Tickets?

For the 2026 race, Shanghai’s promoter charged CNY480 ($72) for three days on the C, F, and J grass banks. Seats started at CNY1,580 ($235) in the new Stand E, the hairpin stands H and K cost CNY1,680 ($250), and the main straight ran from CNY2,580 ($384) in A Low up to CNY4,680 ($697) for A Platinum.

Hospitality started at CNY25,800 ($3,843) for the T16 Club. These are domestic prices, and international agents typically add around 30% plus fees. The 2027 race runs April 16-18, and its tariff hadn’t been published by late September 2026.

Is the Chinese Grand Prix Expensive?

No. At $72 for three days, Shanghai’s grass banks are the cheapest current way into a Grand Prix, and Istanbul’s $42 is lower only because it’s a 2021 price. Saudi Arabia starts at $118, Japan at $140, Italy at $144 and Qatar at $165, while Miami’s cheapest seat costs $695.

The catch is who gets that price. It’s the domestic tariff, sold in yuan through local channels, so overseas buyers usually pay more through agents. The grandstands climb fast too, and A Platinum at CNY4,680 ($697) costs almost exactly what Miami charges for entry.

Chinese Grand Prix Ticket Questions

Chinese Grand Prix tickets cost CNY480 ($72) for three days of general admission at the 2026 race, and a three-day grandstand seat cost CNY1,580 ($235) to CNY4,680 ($697). The promoter also sold Friday, Saturday, and Sunday tickets separately, and the 2027 tariff hadn’t been released by late September 2026.

International sellers charge more for the Chinese Grand Prix because the headline prices are a domestic tariff sold in yuan through local apps and payment systems. Agents selling to overseas fans add a markup, often around 30%, plus their own fees, and buyers still have to supply passport details for facial-recognition entry.

No, the C, F, and J tickets in Shanghai are general admission grass areas, even though the official price chart lists them under a grandstand heading. C covers the opening sector, F the back straight and J the Turn 14 hairpin, and none of them has cover or a big screen.

Grandstand E is the cheaper Shanghai option at CNY1,580 ($235), which is CNY100 ($15) less than H or K. It’s the newest stand, with over 4,000 seats on the corner before the back straight, while H and K face the Turn 14 hairpin, the circuit’s best passing spot.

A three-day Chinese Grand Prix ticket included the Sprint in 2026, because Shanghai was a Sprint weekend that year and the ticket covered all three days. The 2027 event on April 16-18 isn’t on F1’s Sprint list, so next year’s three-day ticket will cover a standard weekend.

Hospitality at the 2026 Chinese Grand Prix started at CNY25,800 ($3,843) for three days in the T16 Club. The T1 Club and Grandstand Club were both CNY38,600 ($5,750), and the Paddock Club topped the chart at CNY42,800 ($6,375) as the only package based in the pit building.
