What Are the Best F1 Tracks?

The best F1 tracks mix fast corners, real overtaking chances, and a setting you remember. Suzuka, Spa, and Silverstone usually top driver polls because they reward commitment through high speed sections.

Street circuits bring something different. Monaco and Singapore are hard to pass on, but the walls punish every mistake and the backdrops are unlike anywhere else on the calendar.

Newer tracks tend to split opinion. Some have added long straights and wide run off to help overtaking, while fans often prefer older layouts with more character and less margin for error.

What Are the Longest F1 Tracks?

Spa-Francorchamps is the longest track on the calendar at 7.004km, so the Belgian Grand Prix needs just 44 laps to reach race distance. Most circuits come in between 4km and 6km.
Las Vegas and Baku are both street circuits over 6km, which gives them long flat-out runs between the walls. Silverstone and Suzuka round out the top five at 5.891km and 5.807km.

F1 Tracks: FAQs

There are 23 races on the 2026 F1 calendar, each held at a different circuit. Sakhir and Jeddah were both canceled this year, and the Bahrain Grand Prix moved to Sepang in Malaysia as a one-off. Madrid's new Madring circuit hosted its first race in September.

Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium is the longest circuit on the calendar at just over 7km per lap.

Monaco is the shortest at about 3.3km, which is why the race runs to 78 laps.

Hosting fees usually run from around $20m to $60m a year, and total staging costs can pass $100m for street races.

A street circuit uses public roads that are closed for the race weekend, while a permanent track is a purpose built venue used all year.
